What is a Superannuation plan?

Using your Superannuation can help you move forward with dental treatment when pain or active issues are involved. You’ll have a no-cost visit with a dentist, who will explain three treatment options so you can choose what feels right for you.

If you decide to proceed, we’ll handle the Super application for you. Once approved, treatment can begin, with the application cost repaid gradually through simple weekly instalments.

*Please keep in mind – Early Release of Superannuation is subject to approval as per Australian law. Approvals are highly restricted, assessed case-by-case, and not guaranteed under ATO criteria.

How it works

Using Super for dental treatment doesn’t need to feel complicated. We take care of the paperwork through SuperCare, so there’s very little for you to manage yourself.

STEP #1:

You’ll have a no-cost visit with a dentist, who will assess your mouth and explain three treatment options.

STEP #2:

If you decide to proceed, we organise the Super application for you and cover the upfront processing cost.

STEP #3:

Once approved, usually within a few weeks, treatment can begin. The application cost is then repaid gradually through simple weekly instalments.

Flexible ways to cover the cost

How you use Super depends on what’s available to you and what treatment you choose. Some patients use Super alone, while others combine it with a weekly payment plan to make things easier.

We manage the Super application for you and cover the upfront cost. Once approved, treatment can begin, with simple weekly repayments.c

Frequently asked questions

Am I actually allowed to use my super to pay for dental treatment?
Yes, in many cases you can apply to access your super on compassionate grounds for medically necessary dental treatment. Approval is subject to ATO criteria and a formal application process, which our team can help guide you through.
Approval timeframes can vary, but most applications are processed within a few weeks once all documents are submitted correctly. Treatment can begin once funds are released or when your dentist confirms the appropriate next step.
Accessing super early will reduce your overall retirement balance, so it’s important to consider the long-term impact. However, many patients choose to prioritise their health, comfort, and quality of life now rather than delaying essential treatment.
If your application isn’t approved, you’re not locked into proceeding with treatment. We can discuss alternative payment pathways, including payment plans, so you still have options available.
